Historical recovery, contemporary and cosmopolitan design, places dedicated to hospitality turn into art galleries or theaters of allegorical poems: the 25hours Hotel Piazza San Paolino combines all this in one place, where stories and stories have brought this project on the lips of many.
The main design newspapers have spoken about this ancient monastery that has become a hotel. Between exciting photos and words that retrace the Divine Comedy, we want to share a project that has seen us secretly engaged for two years.
In the unusual Recepetion the damier floor of La Pietra Compattata stands out
25hours Hotel Piazza San Paolino is located in the Santa Maria Novella district, in the heart of Florence. The architectural project was curated by the Italian studio GLA - Genius Loci Architettura, while the interior design inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy bears the signature of the eclectic designer Paola Navone and her team of OTTO Studio.
"Welcome to Paradise" is the title with which Elle Decor Italia opens the article that tells of the disruptive sign that Paola Navone wanted to impress the interior design of the 25hotel in Florence. The different environments, common and private, are rich in allusions to Dantean work: elements drawn from the circles of hell or the heavens of Paradise immerse you in the universe of the author seamlessly, between vices and virtues.

A multifaceted project by Paola Navone with the backdrop of La Pietra Compattata: a single format, the 25x25, in the Cromie collection covers the Dantean world of 25hours on the floor. The chessboard pose used for the most part also highlights the choice of color: among these Verde Acqua and the Verde Salvia were born together with the designer and then become a fixed part of the Cromie collection. Nero and Verde Acqua alternate in the unusual reception and in the San Paolino Restaurant; Verde Salvia, Verde Chiaro and Verde Scuro pave the winter garden; Blu Oltremare plays with the other shades of blue of the Bottega di Alimentari.
For years, La Pietra Compattata is a drawing tool in the hands of Paola Navone: in love with the 25x25 format and its materiality, according to the designer, our material does not need masks to communicate. It becomes the protagonist in its simplicity.
The project has given rise to a long-lasting collaboration to tell new stories in pietra compattata created by Paola Navone.
